Free children’s books, parent workshops and more during the 2020 African American Read-In!
0We encourage all Dallas ISD elementary students and their families to attend the 2020 African American Read-In on Saturday, Feb. 22! The Racial Equity Office (REO) will host this cultural event in collaboration with three Dallas ISD trustees. The 2020 African American Read-In is set to take place at Justin F. Kimball High School on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each student will receive a free bag of books to build their home library, and school bus transportation and lunch will be provided for elementary school students. Each Thursday in February, we will share stories of longtime iconic educators who made a lasting impact in their students’ lives. Four Dallas ISD mock trial teams advance to state competition
0The mock trial team from the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet took first place at the recent 2020 Dallas Regional Mock Trial competition. The Law Magnet advances to the state competition with teams from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Skyline High School and the School for the Talented and Gifted (TAG). Twenty-four high schools participated in the Dallas Regional Mock Trial competition.
