By next June, the district’s $148 million interim bridge program will wrap up having completed its goal of making critical infrastructure improvements at some 30 schools across the district. As its name implies, the interim bridge program, approved by trustees in 2015, was a stopgap funding measure created between the 2008 and 2015 bond programs to address pressing campus maintenance and space issues. More than 200 Dallas ISD schools will offer students free breakfast and/or lunch over the summer. The Summer Food Service Program brings free meals to children and youth 18 years and younger at participating sites throughout Dallas. All families have to do is find a site, have their child show up for breakfast and/or lunch and enjoy a healthy meal – no registration is needed!
