0As school began this fall, the first Latino participants in the Adjunct Teacher Dallas Residency Program started on their path to becoming certified classroom teachers next semester. They are the second group recruited for the initiative that began last school year to hire more educators who are representative of the students they serve. Thousands of Dallas ISD employees submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination
0After submitting proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, about 11,600 Dallas ISD employees received their one-time $500 COVID vaccine incentive in their September paycheck! Participation in the vaccine incentive is entirely voluntary and based on the employees’ personal preferences. Another 3,000 employees are expected to receive their vaccine incentive in their October paycheck. These employees who have successfully submitted proof of vaccination will be notified closer to Oct. 15. The information provided helps the district know how many employees are fully vaccinated and facilitate the contact tracing and quarantine processes, which are different depending on vaccination status. 0Xavier Martinez’s very first job was working as an engineering apprentice for a major U.S. aerospace company. The Sunset High School junior found a passion for electrical engineering and the aviation industry after joining the Charmaine & Robert Price Career Institute and spending the summer working for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation at Love Field Airport.
