Dallas ISD is considering search firms to help identify a new superintendent
0Superintendent Michael Hinojosa this month announced that he would close out his 13-year tenure as superintendent of the nation’s 16th largest school district. Dallas ISD is considering selecting a search firm for the superintendent search. If any firms are interested in submitting a proposal to the board for consideration and review at the called board meeting on Feb. 3, they can email the proposal to Shantell Grant at SGRANT@dallasisd.org by Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 4 p.m. The proposals will be reviewed, and qualified proposals will be presented to the board of trustees.
Dallas ISD inducts 9 Individuals into Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2021
0Dallas ISD inducted 9 new individuals to its Athletic Hall of Fame in a virtual ceremony. Among the 2021 class are two track Olympians, including a four-time gold medalist; a pair of top-four NBA draft picks with 18 all-star game appearances between them, including a back-to-back NBA World Champion; a PGA Championship winner; an NFL Pro-Bowl selection and Super Bowl champion; a first-round WNBA draft pick; a four-sport prep athlete that helped lead his baseball team to a state championship; and, a baseball coach that guided his teams to 32 consecutive playoff appearances. Downtown parade to celebrate SOC championship team
0A downtown parade and ceremony at Dallas City Hall will celebrate the South Oak Cliff High School Golden Bears for winning the state championship. https://thehub.dallasisd.org/2021/12/13/game-on-south-oak-cliff-football/ The parade will start on Jan. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and S. Pearl Expressway and end at Dallas City Hall. A ceremony with school and district leaders and elected officials will follow the parade at City Hall. Twenty Dallas ISD schools have been invited to march in the parade.
