To celebrate the completion of the renovation, Maple Lawn Elementary staff took on students in a soccer game on Monday on the renovated field. Trustee Miguel Solis, Dallas City Councilman Adam Medrano, and Smart City Networks President Mark Haley were among the VIPs who joined staff and students in the soccer game. Underwater robot competition. Those three words pretty much sum up the Dallas SeaPerch Regional Competition happening this Saturday at Loos Natatorium, 3815 Spring Valley Road. The regional competition will feature 67 teams—19 of which come from Dallas ISD—competing for a chance to move on to the SeaPerch National Challenge happening in May in Baton Rouge. The teams, which each built their robots, are grouped into middle school and high school divisions. This is the first large-scale hiring event this year for the district. Nearly all of the district’s 228 schools will be in attendance at the job fair, which starts at 9 a.m. and ends at noon.
