In order to help and service the Dallas ISD community during these challenging times due to COVID-19, the Kraft Heinz Company announced it is donating over 40,000 servings of Lunchables Pizza with Pepperoni and Capri Sun. The company highlighted the importance of working together to ensure that no student goes without a meal and recognized the district’s efforts to support feeding the families. “We thank Kraft Heinz for their kind and generous donation, as well as for stepping forward to support Dallas ISD students in these challenging times,” said Michael Rosenberger, Dallas ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services Executive Director.

Dallas ISD’s gifted/talented teachers spotlight their student projects for G/T Awareness Week held April 4–10. G/T Awareness Week was created to increase awareness and encourage support of gifted education in Texas. Dallas ISD students have been working hard all year to complete a rigorous project based learning curriculum.  Their projects include research, product creation, writing compositions, and presentations of their works. A. W. Blanton Elementary School has always promoted its main values — friendship, excellence, courage and knowledge – generating impact in the community. To continue to provide the meaning of those values to the Blanton Bruins, Freddie Harris, a physical education coach for the school, and also a personal fitness instructor, had the idea of sharing daily workout videos with the students each morning, through his YouTube Channel. Dallas ISD se ha asociado con DART para entregar alimentos a 300 estudiantes en áreas donde se ha percibido mayor necesidad. La agencia proporcionará tres autobuses que transportarán aproximadamente 100 comidas cada uno. Los autobuses entregarán las comidas en uno de los siguientes sitios, a partir del jueves, 9 de abril, de 11 a.m. al mediodía: Janie C. Dallas ISD has partnered with DART to deliver meals for 300 students in areas identified as having an additional need. Three buses will be loaded with about 100 meals each. DART buses will deliver meals to one of the following sites beginning, Thursday, April 9 from 11 a.m. to noon: Janie C. Turner Recreation Center, Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center and Highland Hills Branch Library.
