Kaveion Morris, estudiante de 9º grado en Bryan Adams High School, caminaba de su casa a la parada de autobús cuando de repente escuchó el llanto de un niño cerca de la piscina de un complejo de apartamentos. For many teachers at Woodrow Wilson High School, a highlight of their day comes with a cup of coffee. Their coffee comes from  the Woodrow Percolators, a coffee cart staffed by students with special needs. From French Vanilla and Caramel flavored coffee to decaf Peach Honey Tea, the students take orders throughout the day and handle all aspects of running the cart. Bryan Adams High School freshman Kaveion Morris was walking from his home to the bus stop when he heard a toddler crying near the pool of an apartment complex. When he got a closer look, he saw the crying toddler was pointing to a young girl drowning in the pool. Morris jumped in the pool and rescued the young girl, while his BA classmate called the police for an ambulance. Toyota and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas provided grants to almost 20 educators from five Dallas ISD schools on Monday. The “DRIVE presented by Toyota” grant provides financial support to select educators in the Adamson and Pinkston feeder patterns. Each awardee received a monetary donation ranging from $500–$2,500. The purpose is to equip teachers with tools and resources to enhance learning. On Election Day in November 2019, all registered Dallas County voters were able to vote at any polling location in Dallas County thanks to the new Countywide Vote Centers. TDIndustries hosted a party for Jack Lowe Sr. Elementary School staff to celebrate their National Blue Ribbon recognition. Dan Micciche, who represents District 3 on the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees, recognized the school’s achievements. He highlighted that the Texas Education Agency rated Lowe Elementary as an Improvement Required campus five years ago.
