For the fifth consecutive year, JCPenney is donating new uniforms and books to Dallas ISD students in partnership with Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities. The donation has become an annual tradition that in normal years includes a fashion show complete with school supplies and other goodies for students from the receiving schools. This year, due to the need to protect students and staff during the pandemic, the charity is delivering the uniforms and books donated by KPMG to the campuses with little fanfare. Dallas ISD, Big Thought, Dallas Afterschool and Dallas Park and Recreation share early lessons from a six-year national study they are participating in called the Partnerships for Social and Emotional Learning Initiative (PSELI). The Dallas ISD Athletics Department is excited to announce the inaugural class of the Dallas ISD Athletics Leaders in Training (L.I.T.) Program! High school athletics coordinators nominated student-athletes, and the students had to complete an application to be selected for the program.
