As Dallas ISD continues to recover from the challenges of the pandemic, the safety, well-being and retention of the district’s highly qualified staff is a priority. A retention incentive for all eligible staff will be implemented for the 2022-2023 school year. ESSER funds will be leveraged to fund the retention incentive. Staff who return for the 2022-2023 school year would be eligible to receive the retention incentive that could amount to as much as $3,500 for the year. To help fight hunger among children in our Dallas community during the holidays, Dallas ISD plans to provide curbside “grab ‘n go” meal service. The district will provide a week’s worth of meals to every child, 18 years and younger, at no charge. The meal service is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m., or while supplies last. School of Science and Engineering y School for the Talented & Gifted recibieron la mayor puntuación en sus respectivas divisiones: mediana y pequeña. An external audit found that Dallas ISD’s finances remain in very strong shape. For the second year in a row, the external auditor–Weaver and Tidwell LLP–found that Dallas ISD’s finances have no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies. Additionally, the report contained no recommendations in the management letter, which is where the auditor presents observations that need to be addressed but aren’t material enough to warrant a finding. “I could not be prouder of the entire business operations division for the incredible results from their expertise and hard work,” said Dwayne Thompson, chief business officer. Voluntarios de Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation y Niagara Cares renovaron las salas de pesas de Lincoln High School, instalaron nuevos pisos en el espacio de entrenamiento y limpiaron, compraron y ensamblaron nuevo equipo y almacenamiento en las tres áreas de entrenamiento a un costo de $75,000. Asimismo, compraron tecnología y muebles para los laboratorios STEM en Boude Storey Middle School (valorado en $30,663), Sarah Zumwalt Middle School ($30,663) y W. M. Young Elementary School ($22,117). El personal de Lincoln y Boude Storey ensambló partes del nuevo equipo.

The Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation and Niagara Cares volunteers renovated Lincoln High School’s weight room and auxiliary weight room, added new flooring to the faculty fitness space, and cleaned, purchased and assembled new equipment and storage throughout all three fitness areas at a cost of $75,000. Additionally, they purchased technology and furniture to equip STEM Labs at Boude Storey Middle School (valued at $30,663), Sarah Zumwalt Middle School ($30,663), and W.M. Young Elementary School ($22,117).  Workers and staff at Lincoln and Storey Boude assembled some of the new equipment.

A fin de reconocer el sacrificio y servicio de los veteranos estadounidenses, estudiantes de cerca de 70 escuelas participaron en un concurso de arte en honor a estos héroes. Por más de 25 años, Dallas ISD ha llevado a cabo un concurso de arte para el Día de los Veteranos en conjunto con la Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation.
