Dallas ISD students will be among the thousands of top-tiered Destination Imagination teams from around the globe welcomed to Kansas City, Mo., to compete in a global contest of innovation and creativity May 21-24. Hosted at the Kansas City Convention Center, the weeklong celebratory event is the ultimate culminating tournament for Destination Imagination’s Challenge Experience. This past weekend, school districts across Texas hosted their University Interscholastic League (UIL) Spring Academic meets in which students competed in more than 20 competitive academic events ranging from speaking to STEM to writing contests. More than 300 Dallas ISD students competed in UIL Academics in four districts: 3A-9, 4A-12, 5A-12, and 6A-11, and 14 Dallas schools qualified to advance to regionals.
