Seagoville students will soon be able to begin their educational journey in pre-K and remain in the same learning community through eighth grade.Dallas ISD recently broke ground on the future Seagoville Academy, a pre-K through eighth- grade campus funded through the district’s voter-approved Bond 2020 program.
By allowing students to remain in the same learning community from early childhood through middle school, the campus will provide greater continuity throughout their educational journey.
This means fewer transitions, stronger relationships, and a deeper understanding of every child’s academic and social-emotional needs over time, said Laura Garza, regional superintendent.
Seagoville Academy will feature modern classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, advanced instructional technology, enhanced safety and security systems, and flexible environments designed to support innovative learning experiences.
Angie Gaylord, chief academic officer, described the campus as a transformational learning environment built around innovation, student engagement, and future readiness.
“These schools are designed to rethink what learning can look like,” she said. “Every child deserves access to an exceptional education that prepares them for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.”
District leaders say that the project represents more than a new facility. They see it as an investment in the future of one of Dallas ISD’s fastest-growing communities.
“This is not just about bricks and mortar,” said Brent Alfred, chief of Construction Services. “This is about building opportunity, creating hope, and giving students spaces where they can discover who they are and who they can become.”
Trustee Prisma Y. Garcia called Seagoville Academy “a promise to families,” saying the project reflects the community’s continued belief in public education.
“Communities like Seagoville are seeing real change and real opportunity,” she said. “We are building pathways for future teachers, doctors, engineers, artists, entrepreneurs, and leaders.”
