Trustee Dustin Marshall reelected to District 2 seat

Dustin Marshall won reelection to the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees in the runoff election held June 10.

Marshall represents District 2, which covers North and Near East Dallas. Marshall ran against Lori Kirkpatrick in the runoff election. Neither candidate received at least 50 percent of the vote on May 6, which caused the June runoff election.

The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees establishes the policies by which schools operate. In carrying out the task of setting policy, the board identifies needs and establishes priorities for the school system, allocates financial and human resources among the priority areas, and evaluates school performance. Trustees also hire and supervise the superintendent.
