0Aug. 19 is officially recognized as “National Aviation Day,” and has been since 1939, but for students in Skyline High School’s aviation program it’s a day that has relevance to the rest of their career. Not only are they learning about turbines (commonly referred to as jet engines) and reciprocating engines, they’re also leaving high school with valuable lessons on discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and ethics. Dallas ISD students make positive gains, exceed pre-pandemic performance levels in Meets
0Students in Dallas ISD are closing the academic achievement gap and are exceeding pre-pandemic STAAR performances in the Meets Grade Level category in reading, which means more students are on grade level. This positive movement gives students and educators an encouraging boost to start the new school year. Based on the most recent STAAR exam administered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), reading and math scores in grades 3-8 show gains in 27 of the 36 categories in Approaches, Meets, and Masters, with no change in five of the categories and negligible dips in the remaining four. Dallas ISD welcomes back students for 2023-2024 school year
0Class is now in session for more than 140,000 Dallas ISD students. Across the district, students were greeted in a variety of ways at their campuses prior to the first bell of the day. Campus cheerleaders, principals, mascots, and special guests were at their school’s entrance ready to drum up excitement for students of all grade levels. Superintendent Stephanie S.
