Dallas ISD students continue to close achievement gap, outperform state, urban districts
0Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde, Ed.D. provided an update to Dallas ISD’s Board of Trustees reporting significant progress in closing achievement gaps among students in grades 3 through 8. In comparison to the state and other urban districts, remarkable gains were made in Approaches and Meets for reading and mathematics. Reading Achievements: Dallas ISD is above pre-pandemic levels in reading for grades 3 through 8 and narrows the achievement gap within seven points of the state at the Approaches level. Junior Jacqueline A. is the team’s kicker, at least when it comes to points after touchdown or “P-A-Ts.” In the team’s first home game against Fort Worth Dunbar, she made all three of her attempts in the team’s 33-7 victory. Dallas ISD fall break schedule
0Dallas ISD is incorporating a fall break for students and campus team members this school year. Campuses will be closed Thursday, Oct. 12 and Friday. Oct. 13. Following the break, teachers will return on Monday, Oct. 16 for a professional development day, while students return to campuses Tuesday, Oct. 17. Fall break also coincides with the district’s Fair Days. Parents, guardians, and students are encouraged to contact their respective schools to determine their specific Fair Day.
