As flu season ramps up, there is much discussion surrounding the symptoms and how they differ from the Ebola virus. The initial stages of both illnesses share similar symptoms, which could wreak havoc on healthcare providers this flu season. The concern is that flu sufferers may flock to doctors and medical facilities fearing that they have somehow been exposed to the Ebola virus. Members of the Texas Association of School Boards have elected Dallas ISD Trustee Mike Morath to a two-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, where he will represent TASB Region 10C. A voluntary, nonprofit statewide educational association, TASB serves the state’s 1,030 Texas public school districts as an advocate for public education on issues ranging from funding to research on public school effectiveness. Dallas ISD working to transition adult education program

After helping thousands of adult students learn to read and write, Dallas ISD’s decades-long stewardship of the adult education program is nearing an end. A grant from Workforce Solutions of Dallas/Texas Workforce Commission is expiring at the end of 2014.
