Early learning team presses the pavement for pre-K (video)
0Members of Dallas ISD’s early learning team, staff, and volunteers took to the streets on Friday, March 31, to let people know in person about available pre-K opportunities in the district. The teams went door-to-door in Dallas neighborhoods to tell residents about the critical importance of high quality pre-K, and how a parent could register their 3- or 4-year-old. Dallas ISD offers pre-K for free to qualifying families. The district also offers paid pre-K this year families that don’t meet certain eligibility requirements. More than 60 seniors to each receive $2,500 Superintendent’s Scholarship
0More than 60 Dallas ISD seniors will each receive $2,500 scholarships to help make college a reality. The district awards the Superintendent’s Scholarship based on a student’s character, academic achievement and community service. Meanwhile, three other Dallas ISD seniors have received $10,000 scholarships funded by the Sulentic Family Foundation, and a top student-athlete has earned the $5,000 Eric Louis Brown Scholarship. Also, the Superintendent’s Scholar with the top GPA will receive an additional $1,500 scholarship from the family of the late trustee Joe May. 0Dallas ISD is holding a teacher job fair from 9 a.m.–noon on Saturday, April 8, at Ellis Davis Field House. Attendees must register to attend, and the registration period is still open. 0The Dallas ISD Scholars recognition program honored stellar students for academic achievement on Thursday, March 30, at Ellis Davis Field House. The program recognizes students in grades 7-12 who have demonstrated academic excellence and college readiness potential. Not only will this program support students in their pursuit of National Merit® Scholarships, it will also provide resources and opportunities that promote academic and social success.
