0Marking a transition from a traditional co-ed middle school to an all-girls STEAM academy, today district officials, elected representatives and parents joined with the staff and students of the Young Women’s STEAM Academy at Balch Springs for a naming ceremony. 0Eight Dallas ISD schools are advancing to the Destination Imagination Global Finals being held May 24–27 in Knoxville, Tenn! The teams advanced out of the State Destination Imagination Tournament held April 8 in Lubbock. Destination Imagination is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Discover Dallas ISD event brings together the best of Southeast Dallas
0Hundreds of families got a firsthand look at what the Dallas ISD schools in Southeast Dallas have to offer on Saturday, April 8. The Discover Dallas ISD-Southeast Dallas event brought together representatives from the schools in the H. Grady Spruce, W.W. Samuell and Seagoville high school feeder patterns. The event took place at Spruce in Pleasant Grove. In addition to having the chance to talk with campus staff, visitors saw live demonstrations and student performances. Texas Comptroller names Dallas ISD as a Transparency Star for finances
0Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced that Dallas ISD is the latest local government entity to achieve specific transparency goals through the Comptroller’s Transparency Stars program. Dallas ISD received a star in the area of Traditional Finances, which recognizes entities for their outstanding efforts in making their spending and revenue information available.
