All Pro Dad program seeks to engage fathers in district schools
0Submitted by Thomas Garner, Partnership and Volunteer Engagement Department Whether they know it or not, fathers have a superpower to make a positive difference in the education and social development of their children, says Partnership and Volunteer Coordinator Thomas Garner. His belief is so strong that Garner is on a mission to recruit as many fathers and father figures as he can to support Dallas ISD’s All Pro Dad program. With that goal in mind, Thomas is gearing up for the All Pro Dad “Dad’s Draft” from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Ellis Davis Field House. …
Dallas Mavericks adopts second Dallas ISD campus for the 2024-2025 school year
0The Royce West Leadership Academy Eagles were welcomed back with a slam dunk on Aug.12 to celebrate the establishment of the school’s partnership with the Dallas Mavericks for the 2024-2025 school year. As an adopted school, the Mavs plan to invest in the school by providing funds to help meet essential needsfor the campus through their Mavs Take ACTION! program. Students at Royce West will benefit in a multitude of ways through mentorship programs, educational resources, and several opportunities to engage with the Mavericks organization. Book vending machine initiative to expand in the 2024-2025 school year
0Imagine being transported to a new world with the push of a button. By picking from a selection of stories in their campus’s book vending machine, Dallas ISD students are able to do just that.
