Attendance more than doubles for annual literacy event and accompanying Asian Festival

More than 1,100 students and parents attended an interactive reading event that brought books, learning, and Asian culture to life. Read for Me, the district’s annual literacy event, and the accompanying Asian Festival happened March 23 at W.H. Adamson High School. Schools throughout Dallas ISD will host KinderCamp on Thursday, April 18 to begin enrolling students for kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year. Parents of incoming kinder students will have the opportunity to learn about curriculum for those grades and the advantages that an early education offers students. KinderCamp will also include meeting the teachers, visiting classrooms, and an ice cream social. Volunteers beautify 23 elementary schools, impacting 13,500 students

The Campus Community Day organized by United to Learn impacted 23 elementary schools, 13,500 students and 975 educators. Thanks to a $135,000 investment from 38 community sponsors and the dedication of more than 450 volunteers, the day enhanced 35 hallways, constructed 21 outdoor projects, renovated 11 classrooms, modernized 6 teachers lounges and coworking spaces, installed more than 11 student-inspired murals, and provide technology upgrades that value nearly $20,000. Law Magnet students organize successful Dallas mayoral forum

The Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet hosted five Dallas mayoral candidates on Thursday evening in an open forum.
