College Costs Covered: Seven seniors earn prestigious Gates Scholarships
0Seven Dallas ISD students have earned the Gates Scholarship, which is one of the nation’s most prestigious scholarships. The Gates Scholarship will cover all college-related costs for the four students at the university or college of their choosing. The Gates Scholarship is highly selective and for Pell-Eligible, minority high school seniors. Students take private charter jet to Johnson Space Center for STEM-Liner Experience
0Thirty-six students from five Dallas ISD high schools took a private charter jet to the Johnson Space Center in Houston as part of Tribute to Valor’s Character and STEM Education program. The STEM-Liner Experience participants engaged in interactive sessions held at Space Center Houston and NASA Johnson Space Center. Students learned from engineers, astronauts, pilots and STEM professionals about STEM careers, character development and leadership. The trip was designed to spark students’ curiosity and imaginations.
