Effective Feb. 28 district shifts to masks recommended
0Dallas ISD has remained consistent with a mask protocol to help protect students, staff, and families from the COVID-19 virus – and its variants. Over the last month, the numbers have been encouraging as positive cases continue to decrease districtwide. Effective on Monday, Feb. 28, masks will no longer be a requirement on district property, however, they will be recommended. Statement from Dallas ISD Board of Trustees on superintendent search firm
0Last Thursday, February 17th, the board selected two search firms – JG Consulting and Walsh Gallegos – to jointly lead the superintendent search process for Dallas ISD. After initial contact, JG Consulting respectfully withdrew its services citing a preference to be the sole search firm. We understand JG Consulting’s perspective and thank them for their proposal. Therefore, Dallas ISD will move forward to begin the superintendent search process, with Walsh Gallegos as our lead search firm partner, in a timely and efficient manner. Schools and offices to reopen on a two-hour delay on Friday, Feb. 25
0Due to inclement weather, the start time for all Dallas ISD schools will be delayed by two hours on Friday, Feb. 25. All buses will run two hours later than their normal schedule, and all staff should report two hours later than their regularly scheduled start time. Afternoon buses will run on the normal schedule for dismissal. We encourage families to dress their students with warm hats and coats, as they head to school tomorrow. Dallas ISD to launch 13 new choice schools next school year
0Dallas ISD is continuing to scale innovation as it announces the launch of 13 new choice schools for next school year. This means there will now be more than 70 choice schools across Dallas ISD! District leaders and representatives from the Dallas ISD Office of Transformation and Innovation surprised the 13 schools with the good news on Feb. 18 and Feb. 22.
