Dallas ISD students keeping neighborhoods beautiful with Dallas Code
0Although the litter pickers might be half their size or taller, Dallas ISD elementary students across the district are proving there are no age or height requirements to protect the planet and keep Dallas neighborhoods beautiful. Throughout the spring, several Dallas ISD elementary schools will receive visits from City of Dallas Code Compliance Services representatives for an interactive learning experience. Through the Waste in Place educational curriculum, Neighborhood Code Representatives (NCR) are visiting schools to bring awareness to students about litter prevention, waste reduction, beautification, and community improvement. For the Conrad RoboChargers, teamwork makes the dream work
0For the first time in school history, the Emmett J. Conrad High School RoboChargers have been crowned UIL Robotics State Champions, after competing with 80 of the highest-ranked teams in Texas. Despite an initial tournament record of 8-4, the RoboChargers rallied for a 10-match winning streak to secure their division and continued undefeated in the double-elimination tournament to win it all. Dallas ISD Trustees approve base school calendar for the next two school years
0The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees has approved the 2023-24 and 2024-25 base school calendars. A survey was sent to families and Dallas ISD team members to seek input on how the calendar should be structured. An additional survey was sent in January to ask families and team members if they would prefer to start school after Tax-Free Weekend. Approximately 77% requested the start date be moved to the Monday after Tax-Free Weekend. The calendars incorporate a start date after Tax Free Weekend, a mini fall break for campus team members, and an end date prior to Memorial Day. 2023-2024…
