Board of Trustees approves $103 million in additional compensation for staff
0The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees at its June meeting approved the district’s budget for 2022-2023, which includes $51.2 million in salary increases for staff and $52 million for retention incentives—a combined $103.2 million in compensation increases. Teachers The approved budget includes an adjustment for most levels in the Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI). Teachers will get the greater of three increases—a change in TEI effectiveness level, a change in the compensation for the effectiveness level or the board-approved increase (3% of compensation level). Teachers will be eligible to advance more than one level on the 2021-2022 scorecard based if earned.…
Woodrow Wilson Community Foundation awards $50,250 in scholarships
0The Woodrow Wilson High School Community Foundation announced today that 33 graduating high school seniors have been awarded foundation scholarships commencing in the fall of 2022. “The Woodrow Wilson High School Community Foundation is proud to continue in our tradition of assisting students graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School to achieve their academic and career goals,” said Richard H. Juneteenth National Independence Day is an official Dallas ISD holiday
0Dallas ISD will observe Juneteenth on Monday, June 20, and district schools and offices will be closed. Juneteenth—which commemorates the announcement of the emancipation of slaves on June 19, 1865, in Galveston, following the Emancipation Proclamation that was issued two years earlier—became a federal and district holiday last year. Juneteenth has been a state holiday in Texas since 1980.
