During the third “Winner’s Circle Celebration,” Dallas ISD recognized outstanding teachers and campus leaders districtwide through the Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year awards.  This year’s 15 TOY and seven POY finalists reflect a diversity of backgrounds and experience, representing all nine trustee districts. From these groups, the elementary, secondary, and choice/magnet Teachers and Principals of the Year will be announced on May 6 at the 2024-2025 State of the District event. Servicios de Alimentos y Nutrición Infantil ofrecerá desayuno y almuerzo para dos días a niños y jóvenes de hasta 18 años, y a estudiantes con discapacidades de hasta 21 años de edad. With spring break around the corner, Dallas ISD wants to ensure all students have access to healthy meals while away from school. Food and Child Nutrition Services will offer two days’ worth of breakfast and lunch to children up to 18-years-old and up to 21 for those with disabilities. Distribution will be held at select sites across Dallas ISD on Monday, March 10. Meals are designed to be heated and served at your convenience. Children must be present to pick up meals. After more than three decades of dedicated service to Dallas ISD and South Oak Cliff High School, legendary basketball coach and athletic coordinator, James Mays II, is officially retiring.  With 34 years in Dallas ISD, including 32 years at South Oak Cliff, Mays leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of leadership, mentorship, and championship success. May served as the head boys basketball coach since 1999, guiding the Golden Bears to 26 consecutive UIL playoff appearances.
