Una vez más, Dallas ISD está llevando diversión e información sobre sus escuelas directamente a la comunidad como parte de los eventos Rock the Block. Karla Garcia won a runoff election on Saturday to serve District 4 on the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees. Garcia is a native of Southeast Dallas and a Dallas ISD graduate. Dallas ISD’s two newest fine arts collegiate academies are here to serve students who want to pursue their passion in music or dance–while also earning up to 60 hours of college credit or an associate degree. Dallas ISD is again bringing the fun–and information about its neighborhood schools–to the community as part of its Rock the Block celebrations. Dallas ISD representatives are holding block parties at seven apartment complexes in Oak Cliff in May and June. Since 2015, Dallas ISD educator Roderick Goudy has worked at mastering the Toastmaster skills of public speaking and leadership, delivering speeches and taking on leadership roles in Dallas ISD Talk It Up! Toastmasters Club and at the Toastmasters’ district level as an area director, training facilitator, and mentor. The Dallas ISD Attendance and Truancy Education Department celebrated the power of showing up at Six Flags on Monday. All Dallas ISD students with five or fewer absences this school year received a Six Flags coupon for free entry to the park this week with the purchase of a regularly priced adult ticket.
