In order to help and service the Dallas ISD community during these challenging times due to COVID-19, the Kraft Heinz Company announced it is donating over 40,000 servings of Lunchables Pizza with Pepperoni and Capri Sun. Dallas ISD’s gifted/talented teachers spotlight their student projects for G/T Awareness Week held April 4–10. G/T Awareness Week was created to increase awareness and encourage support of gifted education in Texas. A. W. Blanton Elementary School has always promoted its main values — friendship, excellence, courage and knowledge – generating impact in the community. Dallas ISD has partnered with DART to deliver meals for 300 students in areas identified as having an additional need. Three buses will be loaded with about 100 meals each. DART buses will deliver meals to one of the following sites beginning, Thursday, April 9 from 11 a.m. to noon: Janie C. Turner Recreation Center, Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center and Highland Hills Branch Library.
