Little Kids Rock, organización nacional sin fines de lucro, hizo una donación de instrumentos nuevos a los estudiantes de Thomas Jefferson High School para reemplazar los instrumentos perdidos o dañados por la tormenta del pasado octubre. Little Kids Rock presentó los instrumentos al programa de banda moderna de la escuela el 11 de diciembre. Little Kids Rock asegura que todos los niños en escuelas públicas tengan la oportunidad de impulsar su talento para construir un mundo donde puedan vivir con un propósito.

A fin de prepararse para la competencia estatal de UIL en enero, más de 400 porristas de 20 escuelas pulieron sus habilidades durante Cheer Challenge, un evento de práctica en Ellis Davis Field House. The Dallas ISD STEM Department partnered with the Microsoft Store at NorthPark Center to provide students with hands-on and engaging computer science activities during Computer Science Week. To help prepare Dallas ISD cheer squads for the UIL State Spirit Competition in January, more than 400 cheerleaders from 20 schools honed their skills at the Cheer Challenge that was held recently at Ellis Davis Field House. Hosted by the Student Activities Department, the Second Annual Cheer Challenge mimicked the UIL Spirit State Championship Finals and included cheer squads outside of Dallas ISD. The Cheer Challenge followed the Cheer Showdown hosted in October. For the first time since 2015, the Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD) received a rating increase by Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Global to AA+, one notch below the highest possible rating. The district previously held steady at a AA rating over the last four years. Luego de visitar el orfanato del que fue adoptada de niña, Sanaya, estudiante de 12º grado en Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, encontró la inspiración para tener un impacto positivo en la vida de otros.
