After a banner school year that saw the highest enrollment in African American Studies and Mexican American Studies courses since their implementation, enrollment is now open for the 2020-2021 school year. The African American Studies course explores the rich and diverse history and culture of African Americans. Students will broaden their knowledge and understanding of African American realities and its impact on contemporary issues. Raul Ayala is one of four graduating high school seniors who have been selected by the Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS) to receive the 2020 CGCS-Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships. After consideration of the latest COVID-19 data and the rising number of cases in Dallas County and in the district, district employees will be expected to report to work in-person on Monday, August 3, instead of the original date of July 6. Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year is now underway at Joseph J. Rhoads.  Dallas ISD is offering scholarships for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds to attend J.J. Rhoads All-Day Learning Center in South Dallas at no cost starting this August. Dallas ISD, Fort Worth ISD and Univision, will continue to broadcast Unidos Para Aprender (Together to Learn) through the summer.
