This March, the Principal of the Year Committee selected six finalists to compete for the honor of being recognized as Dallas ISD Principal of the Year. Two finalists were selected in each of three categories: Elementary, Secondary, and Choice/Magnet Schools. These finalists were among the top contenders selected from Network Cluster Principals of the Year, chosen by their peers in January 2022 and invited to apply for the district award. Dallas ISD’s Pre-K program supports every facet of a child’s development, including early literacy, early mathematics, the arts, the sciences, social emotional development, character and leadership. Eleven Dallas ISD teams  – four middle schools and seven high schools – participated this year in Special Olympics basketball activities. Special Olympics is a year-round sports training program for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.  Event divisions are based on age, gender, and ability level, to give the athletes an equal chance to win and to promote fair play.
