Magnet Schools of America, the national association for magnet and theme-based schools, recently recognized four Dallas ISD campuses. Among the four, three schools won the National Magnet School of Distinction award and one school was named a National Merit School of Excellence.  To celebrate and officially recognize this achievement, the Magnet Schools of America’s 40th National Conference, hosted by Dallas ISD, will be held in April at Hyatt Regency Dallas. Congratulations to CityLab High School for participating in and advancing a team to the “Speak Up Speak Out” state competition, which will be held on March 6 in Austin. The South Oak Cliff Golden Bears continue to be recognized for their historic win of the UIL Class 5A Division II Football State Championship. During the January board meeting, the Golden Bears were officially recognized by Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Stephanie Elizalde, and the Board of Trustees for their back-to-back state championship.
