Lunches to love at Dallas ISD Administration Building

Every Friday during lunchtime, Café 9400 in the Linus D. Wright Administration Building is providing free samples of food being served in cafeterias across the district. Recently, team members sampled Dallas ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services’ (FCNS) cheesy taco pasta recipe.

Dallas ISD employees at the administration building were pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of foods being served in school cafeterias. Many expressed their excitement, saying they would like to see the same recipes served at Café 9400 for central team members. “It’s comfort food and it’s actually really tasty. I am sure the students love it,” said Benefits department analyst Lissy Foster.

Today’s school meals are healthier than ever before, and Dallas ISD’s modern menu features lean proteins, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Meals are also lower in sodium and fats compared to five years ago.

“We would like to spread the word about our new and delicious recipes with the staff and parents. We are working hard to bring students new concepts, homemade recipes and tasty foods that remind them of home,” said FCNS Executive Director Michael Rosenberger.

To sample delicious and healthy school foods, stop by the Linus D. Wright Administration Building at lunchtime any Friday until the end of the school year.
