COVID-19 Update on masks and CDC guidance

By The Hub on January 7, 2022 Headlines

As you are aware, Dallas County is back at the red risk level as the number of positive COVID-19 cases is on the rise. While the symptoms brought on by the new Omicron strain have proven to be less severe, it is more easily transmitted than previous variants. This is why it is important to continue wearing masks when students and staff are inside schools and on district property. Because Omicron is more contagious, we recommend wearing the highest quality mask available.

COVID testing is available at Dallas ISD campuses for students and staff. There are also two additional locations offering free testing daily:

  • Ellis Davis Field House, 9191 S. Polk St. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ups are also accepted. Make an appointment at testing.nomihealth.com/signup/texas.
  • Samuell Grand Aquatics Center, 3201 Samuell Boulevard. Appointments are required for this location. Make an appointment at www.mycovidappointment.com.

Dallas ISD will continue the safety protocols established in the fall, as these measures were proven to help keep the number of positive cases down in our district. Together, let’s all do our part to keep everyone safe.
