    Dallas ISD’s 2020 valedictorians and salutatorians are announced

    Dallas ISD honors valedictorians and salutatorians for the Class of 2020 at each high school. With four years of hard work and commitment, these stellar seniors are bestowed with the prestigious honor of holding the highest and second highest ranks, respectively, among their graduating class. These outstanding and well-rounded students embody an impressive breadth of knowledge and have shown exceptional academic prowess, proving there is no achievement beyond reach. The No. 1 and No. 2 spots are traditionally the most coveted for seniors and is an accomplishment to celebrate as they advance to their next chapter in life.

    Dallas ISD celebrated its Class of 2020 graduates with a series of virtual high school commencement ceremonies. Congratulations are extended to the honorees as they mark this important milestone in their lives. Here are the students who received top honors from their respective schools:

    Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy at A. Maceo Smith
    Valedictorian: Jesus Montero
    Montero plans to attend Northwesten University.

    Salutatorian: Omar Carrizales
    Carrizales plans to attend University of Michigan.

    Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts
    Valedictorian: Ashton Benn
    Benn will join the University of Southern California.

    Salutatorian: Soleil Singh
    Singh will join Yale University.

    Bryan Adams High School
    Valedictorian: Luz Torres-Huerta
    Torres-Huerta is slated to attend Babson College.

    Salutatorian: Ivette Trejo
    Trejo plans to attend Columbus College of Art and Design and major in animation.

    David W. Carter High School
    Valedictorian: Chasity Webb
    Webb plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin.

    Salutatorian: Seyry Moreno
    Moreno plans to attend the University of Texas at Dallas.

    Emmett J. Conrad High School
    Valedictorian: Ifunanya Treasure Okel-llo
    Okel-llo will attend Texas A&M University at Commerce this fall where she plans to pursue nursing.

    Salutatorian: Kaliah Sherrod
    Sherrod is slated to attend the University of Texas at Austin.

    Franklin D. Roosevelt High School
    Valedictorian: Maria Antonia Martinez
    Martinez plans to attend Texas Women’s University and major in business.

    Salutatorian: Victor Mendoza
    Mendoza plans to attend University of North Texas at Denton and major in finance.

    H. Grady Spruce High School
    Valedictorian: Meralda Rodriguez

    Salutatorian: Jennifer Ortiz
    Ortiz is slated to join the University of North Texas at Dallas this fall.

    Hillcrest High School
    Valedictorian: Elnor Habte Solomon
    Solomon will attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in health science.

    Salutatorian: Cynthia Guadalupe Olvera
    Olvera plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in health science.

    Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship Academy at James W. Fannin
    Valedictorian: Natalia Martinez-Sanchez
    Martinez-Sanchez will join the University of Texas at Arlington.

    Salutatorian: Mildred Barrios Ovila
    Ovila will join the University of Texas at Austin.

    Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School
    Valedictorian: Jaila Acevedo
    Acevedo will continue her journey at Johns Hopkins University.

    Salutatorian: Maria Fernanda Bustillo Aguero
    Aguero plans to attend Columbia University.

    James Madison High School
    Valedictorian: Evelyn V. Reyna
    Reyna is slated to join the University of Texas at Austin this fall.

    Salutatorian: Jessica Glover

    Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet
    Valedictorian: Noemi Bartolo
    Bartolo will attend the University of Notre Dame.

    Salutatorian: Ahtziry Tinajero
    Tinajero plans to attend Carleton College.

    Justin F. Kimball High School
    Valedictorian: Cameshia Price
    Price plans to attend Clark Atlanta University and major in education.

    Salutatorian: Daniel Fraire
    Fraire plans to attend the University of North Texas.

    Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy
    Valedictorian: Jedidiah Feyisetan
    Feyisetan is slated to join Texas Tech University this fall and major in biology.

    Salutatorian: Quayvius Cortez Griswold
    Griswold will attend Texas A&M University where he plans to pursue a marketing and business degree.

    L.G. Pinkston High School
    Valedictorian: Michael Denicola
    Denicola will join the University North Texas.

    Salutatorian: Vanessa Mata Montano
    Mata Montano plans to continue her journey at the University of Texas at Austin.

    Dr. Wright L. Lassiter Early College High School at El Centro Community College
    Valedictorian: Joceline Rios-Lovo

    Salutatorian: Brandon Jimenez

    Lincoln High School and Humanities/Communications Magnet
    Valedictorian: Michaela Dunagin-Thomas
    Dunagin-Thomas will attend Southern Methodist University and pursue law.

    Salutatorian: Jayla Ward
    Ward is slated to attend Texas Southern University.

    Moisés E. Molina High School
    Valedictorian: Saul Nieto
    Nieto plans to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and will study Electrical Engineering.

    Salutatorian: Natalie Olivares
    Olivares is slated to attend Tufts University in Massachusetts.

    New Tech High School at B.F. Darrell
    Valedictorian: Elijah Sala
    Sala will continue his journey at the University of Texas at Austin this fall.

    Salutatorian: Alexander Sanchez
    Sanchez will attend the University of North Texas at Dallas.

    North Dallas High School
    Valedictorian: Ashly Delgado
    Delgado plans to attend Texas Women’s University where she will study biology.

    Salutatorian: Tina Nguyen
    Nguyen plans to attend the University of Texas at Arlington and major in kinesiology.

    Rosie M. Collins Sorrells School of Education and Social Services at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
    Valedictorian: Marianna Hernandez
    Hernandez will join the University of North Texas this fall.

    Salutatorian: Angel Martinez
    Martinez will attend the University of Texas at Austin.

    School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
    Valedictorian: Amber Miranda
    Miranda plans to attend Duke University.

    Salutatorian:  Su Min Yoon
    Yoon will attend Rice University.

    School of Business and Management at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
    Valedictorian: Christabel Rocha
    Rocha will continue her journey at the University of Pennsylvania.

    Salutatorian: Melissa Gabriela Zurita
    Zurita is slated to attend the University of North Texas at Dallas.

    School of Health Professions at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
    Valedictorian: Sulema Guevara
    Guevara plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania.

    Salutatorian: Peter Dadson
    Dadson plans to attend the University of Pittsburg.

    School of Science and Engineering at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
    Valedictorian: Aneesh Sharma
    Sharma plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin.

    Salutatorian: Janell Baker
    Baker plans to attend Stanford University.

    Seagoville High School
    Valedictorian: Miquel Angel Rodriguez
    Rodriguez will join the University of Texas at Dallas where he will study engineering and computer science.

    Salutatorian: Samantha Yiccela Reyes
    Reyes will join Texas Tech University.

    Skyline High School
    Valedictorian: Jason Le
    Le will attend Texas A&M University and plans to pursue a degree in Engineering.

    Salutatorian: Royer Murrugarra
    Murrugarra will attend Texas A&M University.

    South Oak Cliff High School
    Valedictorian: Angel Banda
    Banda is slated to attend Southern Methodist University and pursue computer science.

    Salutatorian: Eh Htoo

    Sunset High School
    Valedictorian: Frank Williams Jr.
    Williams will join the University of Texas at Austin this fall and plans to study biology.

    Salutatorian: Gisela Ortiz
    Ortiz plans to attend the University of Texas at Arlington to pursue a degree in business.

    Thomas Jefferson High School
    Valedictorian: Giovanna Lozano

    Salutatorian: Liliana Romero
    Romero will continue her journey at the University of North Texas at Dallas and plans to study psychology.

    Trinidad “Trini” Garza Early College High School at Mountain View College
    Valedictorian: Patricia Michelle Meza-Roman
    Meza-Roman will attend the University of Texas at Austin to study international relations and global studies.

    Salutatorian: Madelyn Isabelle Blake
    Blake is slated to attend Messiah College.

    W.H. Adamson High School
    Valedictorian: Elias Calixto
    Calixto plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin where he will pursue nursing.

    Salutatorian: Itzel Gamino
    Gamino plans to attend Richland College.

    W.T. White High School
    Valedictorian: Joshua Kennedy Davis
    Davis plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in aerospace engineering.

    Salutatorian: Sophia Marie Banowsky
    Banowsky plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in psychology.

    W.W. Samuell High School
    Valedictorian: Jacqueline Miranda Martinez

    Salutatorian: Seren Jones

    Wilmer-Hutchins High School
    Valedictorian: Briana Maravilla
    Maravilla plans to attend the University of North Texas at Dallas

    Salutatorian:  Isaias Garay
    Garay plans to attend North Lake College.

    Woodrow Wilson High School
    Valedictorian: Elizabeth Anne Whiteside
    Whiteside plans to attend  Emory University to study neuroscience.

    Salutatorian: Sofia Marie Furrh
    Furrh plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in international relations.
