Super Scholar: School of Health Professions senior becomes district’s first certified personal trainer

Super Scholar: School of Health Professions senior becomes district’s first certified personal trainerThe School of Health Professions senior Tiara Choi has successfully completed the Sports Medicine curriculum and passed the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) personal trainer exam.

She is the first student in Dallas ISD to become a certified personal trainer. This is the first year the school has offered this certification.

In addition to the personal trainer certification, the school offers career certifications in Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, ECG Technician, Medical Office Assistant, Patient Care Technician, and Registered Dental Assistant.

This year students completed the following career certifications:

Career Certification Number of Students that took exam Percent Pass Rate
Pharmacy Technician 22 Students will take in June
ECG Technician 32 97%
Phlebotomy Technician 32 100%
Patient Care Technician 21 100%
Registered Dental Assistant 19 100%
