Nathan Adams and Tom C. Gooch elementary schools played host to a special visitor on Thursday, Nov. 3, to spotlight both schools’ top readers in the Speeding to Read incentive program sponsored by Texas Motor Speedway.

NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Larson stopped by to talk a little bit about reading and help recognize students who had read the most books in the program. At Nathan Adams, the top three readers received backpacks from Target, and the Top 100 readers were given tickets to attend the AAA Texas 500 on Sunday, Nov. 6, at Texas Motor Speedway. Target’s Bullseye mascot also made a special appearance.

Random House Publishing and Target donated 300 new books for the Nathan Adams library. Larson presented Principal Adrian Luna with a Target gift card and Target fire suit – noting it was a few days too late to use it for a Halloween costume.

Larson drives the No. 42 Target Chevrolet in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
