By The Hub on June 4, 2015 News Briefs

Graduation season is happening May 29–June 7, and in honor of Dallas ISD graduates, The Hub is spotlighting a different senior each day as the Class of 2015 takes their anticipated walk across the stage.

Today we spotlight Eraquio Garcia at Thomas Jefferson High School.

Awards/honors, involvement: Senior class president, Dallas ISD Teen Board, Bobbye & Barlow Irvin scholarship recipient ($48,000), plays the bajoquinto (10 string guitar) in his family’s band Conjunto Aventura Nortena

The biggest lesson I’ve learned in school: I’ve learned to never be afraid to ask for help—no matter the subject, topic or situation.

The teacher who inspired me the most: Ms. Cadigan inspired me the most because she taught me what being a leader means. She also taught me about the importance of time management and how it can help you be successful and organized in school and in life.

Who/what motivates me: My family is my main motivation in life. They always remind me of where I come from, and they’re always there to show their support in joyful as well as challenging times.

What’s next: I plan to attend the University of Texas at Austin this fall. I want to obtain a degree in business administration with a major in finance and become a successful business person in the future.
