0New for the 2024-2025 school year, Dallas ISD will offer students an opportunity to join a Firefighter Academy at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School of Innovation. The first-of-its-kind program includes a curriculum where students finish their high school degree while simultaneously earning industry-recognized certifications to become a firefighter. Students can apply for this program now through January 31. At the core of Roosevelt’s curriculum are the values: safety, teamwork, and community engagement. W.T. White’s Lady Longhorns are on the rise
0Lakita Dockery remembers being in her teens walking the hallways of W.T. White as captain of the volleyball team. Fifteen years later, she’s now Coach Dockery and is in awe of how the school has evolved. The words “Longhorn Pride” are painted on several walls, reminding her of the immense honor it will be to lead the varsity volleyball team to victory at the state playoffs next month. Below are their top five tips for a fun-filled and safe evening, Trick-or-treating is safer, not to mention more fun, in groups. Kids under age 12 should be joined by adults for trick-or-treating.
