Budget staff earns another national honor
0The Budget Services Department has earned the latest in a series of financial reporting honors for the Dallas Independent School District. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to the Dallas ISD Budget Services for its 2014 budget. According to GFOA, the award reflects a commitment to the governing body and staff of an organization to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. Chief addresses inquiries into investigation
0As the result of an unauthorized leak of a confidential draft document created within the Office of Internal Audit, allegations against Chief of Human Capital Management Carmen Darville and members of her team appeared in the media this week. A determination of whether those allegations warrant an investigation has not yet been made by the Chief of Internal Audit. More than 94 percent of eligible teachers apply to be Distinguished
0The deadline for submitting a Distinguished Teacher Review application was midnight Thursday, Jan. 22, and the number of submissions indicates teachers are excited. Of the more than 1,400 teachers identified to take part in the Distinguished Teacher Review process, 1,390 applied – representing more than 94 percent of those eligible. The Distinguished Teacher Review is a component of Dallas ISD’s new evaluation system, the Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI), and assesses the quality of instruction, leadership, lifelong learning, and contributions to the profession of the district’s most effective teachers.
