Report: Dallas ISD has six of 10 best public high schools in North Texas
0Dallas ISD is home to six of the 10 best public high schools in North Texas, according to a new report from a Texas-based non-profit that researched and ranked 211 public high schools from nine area counties. Additionally, the report from Children at Risk found that Dallas ISD is home to the best middle school in North Texas—William B. Travis Academy/Vanguard for the Academically Talented and Gifted. Hinojosa named Superintendent of the Year by Latino superintendent’s association
0Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD) Superintendent Michael Hinojosa has been named the 2017 Latino Superintendent of the Year by the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS). The award will be presented during the ALAS annual awards gala on Thursday, April 27 in Washington, D.C. In a statement issued to Hinojosa from ALAS, Executive Director Nancy Lewin remarked that this year’s candidates were considered among a competitive selection process. “The committee was very impressed with your application, your work, your passion and commitment to education and your continued involvement with ALAS,” Lewin said in a statement.
