All seniors at 23 high schools eligible for full scholarship to Dallas community colleges
0Thanks to an unprecedented financial commitment from the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) Foundation, all seniors – regardless of GPA or family income – at 23 Dallas ISD high schools have the opportunity to earn a full-tuition scholarship, a Success Coach mentor, and access to additional transfer scholarships to attend partner four-year universities including SMU and UNT-Dallas. Trustees approve plans for campus closures, consolidations next year
0Students at two schools in Dallas ISD will attend different schools next year if their current campuses fail to meet state accountability standards at the end of this school year. In addition, the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees voted Thursday, Jan. 25, to close three campuses. Below is a summary of Board-approved actions. 0On Tuesday, Jan. 23, Mayor Mike Rawlings kicked off the 11th Dallas Mayor’s Intern Fellows Program by urging businesses and nonprofits to sign up to participate in the program. The eight-week paid summer internships are available to Dallas students, with the deadline to register coming fast on Jan. 31. 0Parents who need help to navigate the application process for Dallas ISD’s specialty schools have four remaining opportunities to get help completing their child’s application for collegiate academies, magnets, dual language, Montessori, Transformation and other specialty schools. Central staff employees from departments that support specialty schools are providing hands-on assistance to parents to complete students’ applications by the Wed., Jan. 31, application deadline.
