Dallas ISD names its 2019 Counselor of the Year
0After being named the 2019 Dallas ISD Counselor of the Year, Helaine Marberry held back a few tears and addressed the auditorium full of outstanding counselors. “Our reason for being is for kids and doing right by them every day,” said Marberry, who serves as counselor at the School for Talented and Gifted. “Thank you to everyone here for all of your hard work.” Dallas ISD hosted the Counselor of the Year ceremony at W.H. 0A full house celebrated the nine outstanding inductees into the Dallas ISD Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2019. The Dallas ISD Athletic Department hosted the ceremony presented by Credit Union of Texas at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Awards program celebrates 50 years of service from volunteers and partners
0Fifty years of valuable service and support were celebrated at the Dallas ISD Volunteer and Partner 2018–2019 Awards Program. District officials, dedicated volunteers and valuable partners celebrated the 50-year milestone at the April 30 ceremony held at the Turney W. Leonard Governance and Training Center. Discovering summer one camp at a time
0Hundreds of families showed up to Billy Earl Dade Middle School on a Saturday to learn about the many enrichment activities offered over the summer. To help prevent summer learning loss, Dallas ISD is partnering with the City of Dallas, libraries and nonprofits to offer hundreds of summer programs and enrichment opportunities for students of all ages. In addition to learning about and signing up for these opportunities, students and families at the Discover Summer Resource Fair chose from a selection of free books, watched and performed science experiments, and made their own music.
