Trustees unanimously approve granting extended emergency leave for all active district employees
0The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved granting extended emergency leave for all active salaried and hourly employees, allowing them to continue receiving their normal paychecks while schools are closed indefinitely. First day response for grab-and-go meals far exceeds expectations at several schools
0The first day of Dallas ISD providing bulk grab-and-go meals saw a huge response from the community, with the turnout at several schools far exceeding original expectations. Each meal package given to students had breakfast, lunch and dinner for three days, with a total of more than 100,000 meals given out to students Monday. With schools being closed indefinitely, Monday was the first time Dallas ISD has ever provided students with three days of grab-and-go breakfast, lunch and dinner. 0Even with the indefinite closure of schools, Dallas ISD continues its commitment to provide the best educational opportunities for all students. Update on staff PTO and payroll while schools remains closed due to COVID-19
0Dallas ISD considers the health and safety of our staff and students our top priority. The district has been closely monitoring the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19, outbreak. Pending board approval, beginning March 23, 2020, the Dallas ISD has suspended standard district operations due to the current COVID-19 outbreak. This emergency has resulted in a districtwide closure resulting in a districtwide Extended Emergency Leave. During this districtwide Extended Emergency Leave all active employees for Dallas ISD will be placed on an approved emergency leave for the duration of the district closure.
