0After a semester of hard work, ongoing monitoring, and counseling, 197 Dallas ISD students graduated from high school at the district’s first ever Fall Graduation ceremony. This event was the culminating stage of implementing the Reconnection Plus + program at comprehensive high schools. This initiative aims to provide an accelerated instructional plan for 5th year + seniors and students severely behind in credits. 0Schools are celebrating their phenomenal campus teachers of the year for their dedication in helping all students succeed. Each campus teacher of the year received a box stuffed with goodies and helpful items. Campuses recognized their campus teachers of the year in a variety of fun ways. The campus teachers of the year represent a broad mix of diversity and years of experience in the district. Each honoree now has the opportunity to apply to be considered for the district teacher of the year. 0The schedule of the superintendent’s community conversations and dialogues has been updated so all school communities can participate this school year. The meetings that were originally scheduled for staff–Dialogue with the Superintendent–and for the community–Community Conversations Through Collaboration–will now take place during the spring by combining feeder patterns into shared events. This modified schedule allows all staff, faculty, parents and community members to hear from Superintendent Michael Hinojosa in the 2021-2022 school year. Dallas ISD to offer free curbside ‘grab ‘n go’ meal service over Winter Break for all children 18 years and younger
0Dallas ISD is excited to offer nutritious Winter Break Meals to every child, 18 years and younger, at no charge. Twenty-two schools were strategically selected so that every student would have a school nearby to pick up meals. Schools will provide a “grab ‘n go” meal service with a week’s worth of meals, valued at $80 per child. The meal service is scheduled for Monday, December 20, 2021, and Monday, December 27, 2021, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm or until supplies last. Meals will include seven lunches and seven snacks.
