Back to School Enrollment Fair on August 6
0We’re ready to welcome you back to school. Parents of students in all grades – pre-K through 12th – can receive help to complete their child’s enrollment for the new school year. Join us during the This Is Home Registration Fair on Saturday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ellis Davis Field House, located at 9191 S. Mourning a Tragedy
0Our Dallas ISD family joins in mourning with the families and loved ones of the more than 50 people—including several children—who died this week in an overheated truck in San Antonio. The story of those who perished as they were seeking a better life is all too familiar for many of us. Dallas ISD to Induct Seven into Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022
0Dr. Michael Hinojosa will be inducted into the fifth class of the Dallas ISD Athletic Hall of Fame along with six other impressive individuals who have made significant contributions to the district’s athletics programs. This year’s Hall of Fame nominees also include an Olympic swimming gold medalist, the winningest football coach at South Oak Cliff High School, the first female athletic coordinator in district history, a two-time consensus All-Southwest Conference quarterback, the winningest Black football coach in UIL history, and the winner of the 1986 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Board of Trustees approves $103 million in additional compensation for staff
0The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees at its June meeting approved the district’s budget for 2022-2023, which includes $51.2 million in salary increases for staff and $52 million for retention incentives—a combined $103.2 million in compensation increases. Teachers The approved budget includes an adjustment for most levels in the Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI). Teachers will get the greater of three increases—a change in TEI effectiveness level, a change in the compensation for the effectiveness level or the board-approved increase (3% of compensation level).
