Joyce Foreman was elected to the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees, representing District 6, in June of 2014. District 6 covers southwest Dallas. As a business owner and community leader, Foreman uses her experience in education and the community to shape Dallas ISD in District 6 and throughout the district. This past weekend was a day of trolling around for students and teachers throughout the District who participated in Destination Imagination Winter Blitz Workshop. With the Trolls World Tour movie theme, more than 1,700 elementary and secondary students from 125 schools came together for a day of fun as they prepare for regional, state and global DI competitions. Dressed in troll costumes during the workshop, Student Activities staff and presenters engaged more than 215 Dallas ISD DI teams in performance-based and hand-on activities throughout the day. “The workshop teaches team members to work cooperatively,” said Student Activities Coordinator Angie Nuno.…

Dustin Marshall in 2016 was elected to the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees, representing District 2, which includes parts of North and East Dallas. Marshall also serves as CEO of Hazel’s Hot Shot, an expedited freight and logistics company headquartered in Dallas. Marshall joined Hazel’s in 2011 and has successfully tripled the size of the business while increasing profits by more than 1,000 percent. Every year, the federal government and the State of Texas allocate hundreds of millions of dollars in grants and loans for college students. More than 1,500 alumni, current students and neighbors of South Oak Cliff High School joined dozens of district and elected officials for Saturday’s ribbon-cutting held to celebrate the formal opening of the renovated campus.
