After getting feedback from more than 10,000 stakeholders, including teachers and campus leaders, and engaging in multiple virtual community meetings, Dallas ISD is proposing three calendar models that would provide more learning time for the students that need it most. Héctor Samuel Castro Ortiz has always wanted to express himself through his work, and that’s what he’s learning to do at Career Institute (CI) North. He’s a freshman at Conrad High School and is enrolled in the Construction and Carpentry pathway, one of several programs offered by Dallas ISD’s career institutes. The district manages three career institutes, each linked to a traditional Dallas ISD high school. As Dallas ISD moves into the new school year, the Parent Service Department is excited to announce that effective Jan. 26, 2021, parents will be able to view and/or download the first Truancy Warning Notice through the Parent Resource Center.
