Dallas ISD closed Thursday and Friday, Feb. 18 and 19, due to inclement weather

Due to the current weather and power conditions, Dallas ISD will be closed Thursday and Friday, Feb. 18 and 19. There will be no virtual learning or after school activities, and students will not be required to make up these days.

To provide a safe, warm shelter to families, Dallas ISD is opening warming centers at Emmett J. Conrad and W.W. Samuell high schools and Lorenzo De Zavala Elementary School from noon to 5 p.m. Families are asked to bring their own food, wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

Dallas ISD is cancelling curbside meal distribution for Friday, Feb. 19, due to unsafe conditions related to this week’s inclement weather and the inability to receive food orders from vendors. Tentative plans call for limited curbside meal service on Monday, Feb. 22, and a return to normal curbside meal service on Wednesday, Feb. 24. The exact meal pickup locations will be announced after staff assesses the condition of the facilities.

Please check the district website and social media channels for latest updates. Thank you for your patience, and please stay safe.
