Dallas ISD Bond and Construction is launching the Bond 2020 program with virtual design charettes for 11 new replacements schools. On November 3, voters approved Proposition A, which provided $3.2 billion to fund repairs and upgrades to more than 200 of the district’s 230 campuses.  The proposition also includes funding for replacement schools for: W.H. For W.T. White High School B-TECH sophomore Micayla Martin, volunteering in one of her school’s special education classrooms helped her realize her calling of becoming a teacher. Martin, who is enrolled in her school’s education pathway, now has a big head start on achieving her calling after being one of 12 W.T. The Dallas ISD Baseball Academy will be held June 21-24 for Dallas ISD students currently in grades 3 through 6. The event will take place Monday through Thursday from 6-8 p.m. The academy, which will focus on individual skill development and training for our future Dallas ISD baseball champions, will be held six different high schools, including Molina, W.T. On May 27, Dallas ISD’s Board of Trustees recognized Kamila Vargas, a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School, as the 2021 recipient of the Council of Great City Schools’ Green-Garner Scholarship, based on her high academic performance and strong character.
