In the spirit of keeping “Dallas ISD On the Move,” the Health and Physical Education Department encouraged staff, students and families to participate in the 2021 Oncor Kids Race on Saturday, Dec. 11.  This event provided an opportunity to engage Dallas ISD schools in a community activity that was developed to promote the importance of physical fitness and daily physical activity.

As a result of our collaboration with several community partners, Dallas ISD was able to participate in an event that created amazing experiences and lifelong memories for thousands of district students.  About 4,000 students ran in the Oncor Kids Race, and many more family members and staff were in attendance as well.

“This event was a ‘winning’ experience for all and a great way to get our school community back up and on the move to a healthy and active lifestyle,” said Barbara Johnson, director of the Health and Physical Education Department.  “We are extremely grateful to all who played a role in making it possible for our students to participate.”
