When she moves on from William B. Travis Academy/Vanguard in two weeks, eighth-grader Phoebe Fauss will leaf behind a green legacy at the school: the “Phoebe Fauss Salad Bar.”

Fauss worked with the Dallas ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services Department and campus leadership to bring a salad bar to the school. The salad bar debuted at the school on May 15 and more than 40 students loaded their plates with fresh greens and vegetables on the first day.
